Ingredients
For the chops:
- 4 pork chops (or beef chops)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the brown sugar glaze:
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Season the chops
- Pat chops dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Sear the meat
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chops and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove and set aside.
3. Make the glaze
- In the same pan, reduce heat to medium.
- Add butter and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, paprika, and pepper.
- Cook until it becomes a thick, bubbling sauce.
4. Combine and cook
- Return chops to the pan.
- Spoon the glaze over them continuously.
- Cook for another 5–7 minutes until fully cooked and coated.
5. Rest and serve
- Let the chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
